The Chamber had its Annual Banquet on April 21, 2011. The chamber announced its Officers and Executive Board for the 2011-2012 year and presented the 2011 Citizen of the Year, 2011 Organization of the Year and the 2011 Business of the Year. Citizen of the Year was presented to Mike Peters, St. Joseph village employee for his selfless rescue of a Illinois-American Water employee who had fallen head first into a pit and was trapped for three hours. Organization of the Year was presented to the St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Department. Business of the year was presented to St. Joseph Apothecary. Guest speaker was Tod Treat, UI Professor and 1987 graduate of SJO. Mayor BJ Hackler spoke on the health of the village.
